The Project Manager / Business Analyst, IT PMO, is responsible for the planning, management and execution of IT projects for Alexion. The Project Manager is accountable for delivering IT projects on time, within budget, and with high quality.
The position provides overall Project Management for Global IT projects. The position works closely with Alexion Global IT Business Partners, Portfolio Leads, Service Delivery Managers and the project team to execute and deliver IT projects.
Principal Responsibilities:
PM
  • Manage projects in compliance with the Alexion IT PPM and SDLC standards, tollgates, and use of ServiceNow for project management.
  • Drive project chartering, governance and kick-off
  • Define the project operating structure (meetings, communication, reporting) and manage project team operating rhythms
  • Establish a communication strategy in partnership with business and IT sponsors and effectively communicate project related information to team members, IT management, and customers throughout the project life cycle.
  • Ability to work with different cross-functional stakeholders to establish and ensure a reliable and productive working relationship
  • Facilitate the definition of the project scope, milestones, tasks, deliverables and resource requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, budget/ongoing project forecast of resources and materials and other project related artifacts.
  • Continually identify, prioritize, communicate and mitigate project risks.
  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Manage and negotiate project scope changes.
  • Efficiently identify and resolve project issues. Escalate issues that require executive attention.
  • Manage vendor dependencies and drive deliverables to meet target dates
  • Ensure business inclusion throughout the management of the project schedule, project decision making, training, etc.
BA
  • Mapping and documenting interfaces between systems
  • Analyze applications/business domain data requirements and business rules, understanding the data flow from system to system
  • Developing data integration processes including review and approval of business requirements
  • Business and Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities for business or process improvement; makes associated recommendations as appropriate.
  • Work within Waterfall and/or agile development process, specifically with backlog management

  • Partner with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into technical requirements
  • Conduct current state analysis and document future state requirements, as well as, document and recommend solutions
  • Draft Business Requirements, Functional Requirements and SIT/UAT plans
  • Analyze, document and test program development, logic, process flows and specifications
  • Develop user test cases, conduct user testing and monitor implementation for new systems
  • Define reporting and alerting requirements
  • Partner with business stakeholders to conduct user acceptance testing and gain solution sign-off
  • Coordinate the project resources to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
Skills:
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in IT, Compliance and/or Project Management and Business Analyst area(s).
  • Mature project management skills, with proven track record of leading broad, complex and/or strategic projects combined with the ability to execute at tactical project-level activities and tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering IT/Business projects portfolio in biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry; GxP experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and experience defining project scope, team building, Business requirement and understand functional/technical specifications related to business applications systems
  • Demonstrated experience as Project Manager / Business Analyst leading end-to-end Project Management / System Delivery lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in capturing system and data process flows, writing software requirements and test specifications
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Change management and regulatory compliance requirements impacting IT - including cGMP, Computer Systems Validation, SOX, Security, ....
  • Broad business acumen and understanding of software development processes, outsourcing and off-shoring.
  • Proven experience working effectively in a matrix organization and ability to collaborate effectively across geographies
  • Experience in global companies, and ability to work virtually with team members in multiple time zones.
  • Integrated process, people, quality and commitment-centric approach to getting work done.
  • Ability to motivate many kinds of direct or indirect reports, teams and/ or project members

  • Experience building relationships with client stakeholders. Strong leadership capabilities. Excellent written and oral communication skills including capacity to comfortably interface with senior leaders.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree Business management and/or Information Technology management
  • Understanding and adherence to PMI's or similar Project and portfolio Management methodologies
  • PMP and Agile methodologies certification is a plus
