NESCO Resource is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer I for a Direct Hire opportunity for our client in central Tucson.

The Successful Candidate:

Will Research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including lidar and radiation detection equipment, power electronics; communications equipment and systems; circuitry components and integrated circuits; analog and digital computers, processors, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and associated firmware; and control and test equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with a team of skilled professionals to design, test, and produce electro-optic systems
  • Develop FPGA firmware for advanced devices from Xilinx using VHDL, Verilog, Block Diagrams, and HLS tools.
  • Perform layout or assist with layout of circuit cards
  • Work with vendors to fabricate and assemble circuit cards and other electronic assemblies
  • Hands on testing, troubleshooting, and system integration of circuit cards and electronic systems
  • Design, develop, implement, test, and validate equipment and methods to support production of electro-optic systems
  • Support new and existing technical and cost proposals
  • Support system design and implementation from initial concept through production
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS/BA in Computer/Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred, and significant relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement
  • Experience programming  FPGAs and microprocessors is required.  FPGA electrical design ability is desired.
  • Knowledge of at least one circuit-card design software package, and experience in circuit card design and implementation. Altium Designer preferred
  • Good command of electronic circuit theory including use of opamps, regulators, transistors, and various passive components
  • Software programming skills in Labview, Matlab, Python, or C/C++ etc.
  • Ability to produce professional documentation and thoroughly document designs and testing results
  • Ability to obtain TS security clearance.  Current security clearance preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Altium Designer
  • Current security clearance
