Position Summary
The purpose of the Floor Assistant is to serve as a point person and assistant for the Shift Supervisor and Manager. This lead role is responsible for overseeing a set of machines and performing various functions to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.

Accountabilities
  • Perform setup for production changes to ensure everything is in line with customer specifications. This includes setting up brand plates and hot stamping machines, performing color and material changes, verifying and adjusting material blends.
  • Perform work according to standards and verify that machine operators are following safety standards and product work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot basic machine and processing problems.
  • Monitor alternative material usage and verify machines are running to standard cycles.
  • Ensure work cells are stocked with all necessary components (wheels, etc.).
  • Review work orders and prepare setup for oncoming shift.
  • May be asked to record scrap or other performance indicators.
  • Effectively perform machine operator duties on any machine, filling in as needed and during breaks.
  • Perform end of day duties before the next shift takeover.
  • Maintain and oversee cleanliness and organization of work area (5S).

Physical Requirements – must be able to:
  • Effectively move throughout the facility to access various machines and equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Operate, activate, and repetitively use equipment controls and related production tools over 66% of the time.
  • Lift and move product, parts and supplies, etc. weighing up to 30 lbs., a distance of 1 – 3', from machines, carts, conveyors, etc. 67 – 100% of the time.
  • Position self in a "twist/turn” or "rotational” fashion to effectively complete machine operation functions 67 – 100% of the time.
  • Position self to reach/place product, parts and supplies, etc. less than 3' from floor level up to 66% of the time.
  • Push/pull product, parts and supplies, etc. weighing up to 30 lbs. into and out of machines, conveyors, tables, etc. up to 50% of the time.
  • Reach above shoulder level to access machine controls, parts and supplies, product, etc. up to 40% of the time.
  • Assist with Supplying parts and components for assembly or decoration.
  • Must be able to work in 100 plus degree temperature(s).
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year of injection molding experience desirable
  • 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Capable of working 1st shift (hours 7:00am – 3:30am) and a rotating schedule that includes the weekends
  • Excellent Leadership Skills including strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Some Spanish is preferable
