Job Description:
Provide procurement expertise and support to clients to include procurement planning, analysis, and acquisition package development for various DoD/U.S. Army projects. Analyzes technical data and reports to determine spares and support equipment packaging requirements as part of the acquisition provisioning process. Responsible for translating the operational requirements into technical requirements of MIL-STD-2073-1 that will ensure effective packaging performance.

Makes sound judgments regarding the suitability of commercial packaging practices. They must be knowledgeable of customary commercial practices and environments and understand the life cycle consequences of item preservation decisions. Reviews materials and techniques of commercial or industrial packaging and validates their performance characteristics to determine their suitability for protecting weapon system material.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science Degree with at least 3 years DoD/US Army logistics/provisioning experience. In lieu of formal education, High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of six years of acquisition and procurement experience.
• Experience using PowerLog-J and MIL-STD 1388/GIA-0007 tools on US Army/DoD acquisition programs and the classification of selective group or special group items in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1
• Experience using MIL-STD-2073-1E, Standard Practice for Military Packaging and Handling and identifying and documenting component packaging requirements
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)
• Ability to read and interpret item specifications, standards, drawings, descriptions, necessary assembly and general arrangement drawings, schematic drawings, schematic diagrams, and diagrams containing wiring and cabling
• Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills as well as oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to immediately obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Understanding of DoD Product Support Analysis (PSA) requirements for provisioning
• Understanding of Army watercraft and ground vehicle maintenance processes
• Experience using MIL-STD-129 Military Marking for Shipment and Storage; ASTM-D996 Standard Terminology of Packaging and Distribution Environments, ASTM-D1974 - Standard Practice for Methods of Closing, Sealing

Employee will be reimbursed for travel expenses at U.S. government rate if directed by supervisor to travel during employment.
