Job description summary:
The lockbox accountant will manage and reconcile lockbox bank accounts for violator citation payments. This position will manage relationships with all banks and collection agencies used by the company in the direct management of receivables from issued citations. This includes setting up new accounts, maintaining current accounts, correcting errors, and paying fees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliation reports (i.e. monthly bank account reconciliation reports, accounts receivable aging reports, cash receipts reports, etc.) to client cities.
  • Exception handling for bank interfaces.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Insufficient funds handling.
  • Verification of payments.
    Work with IT development to generate new reports as needed per contracts or customer's request.
  • Responsible for making sure these reports are accurate in accordance to the contract.
Minimum Job Requirements
Associates degree in accounting or finance with at least 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team attitude.
Microsoft Office exposure and skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics accounting software a plus.
Knowledge
Basic accounting and finance knowledge.
Microsoft Office exposure and skills.
Familiar with SAP accounting software a plus.
Physical Demands
Sit for long periods of time.
Stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift 10-15 lbs routinely.
Occastionally lift up to 20 lbs.
