The Shipping Technician position includes the following duties:
  • Receive packages, open and verify contents, compare material against packing slip and SDI purchase order. Enter information about the receipt into the SDI database at the computer terminal in the receiving area. May be required to lift boxes, packages weighing up to 50 pounds. Forklift skills are NOT necessary.
  • Receive and register items (in computer database) sent in by customers to be quoted for reconditioning or replacement. (IC Files)
  • Prepare shipments of goods; pull products from shelves, fabricate from components if necessary, have other team member verify (check) products pulled, package, process for shipment and complete distribution of paperwork for all daily orders.
  • Greet and assist walk in customers at the customer counter. Process "Will Call” orders, accept payment, (credit card or cash).
  • Re-stock shelves with product from back stock area, maintaining proper date rotation. Perform cycle counts and other tasks to maintain proper control of inventory. Clean, organize and maintain the warehouse area. Maintain the back stocked items by product and date. Store to assure proper rotation of goods through time.

What technical knowledge, specific skills or abilities are needed to meet the key responsibilities of this job?
(Candidate will be trained on the following):
  • Knowledge of products in inventory and their location.
  • Knowledge of all shipping methods (UPS, Fedex, US Government Client, etc.)
  • Knowledge and the ability to utilize the SDI database program to process receipts, shipments and returns.
