Job Description
Supply Planners are responsible for planning and purchasing assigned materials to ensure global supply.  The purpose is to balance the objectives of maximum product availability and capacity with strategic inventory initiatives. Products may be produced at multiple sites, or purchased from key suppliers and replenished to the Distribution Centers and/or Manufacturing plants.  Typically a Planner is solely responsible for planning the manufacture of a given product at a given production site.  Responsibilities include product forecasting, reorder point/safety stock planning, product allocation, managing inventory turns, product availability/fill rate, and product life cycle management.  Additionally, a Planner is responsible for analyzing inventory trends and proposing process improvements.  Planners are responsible for the generation or management of key reports and metrics and are involved in various projects.
 
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
  • Comprehensive MRP knowledge
  • Skilled in ERP Systems, preferably SAP and E1
  • Understanding of BOMs
  • Process improvement capability
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understand of concepts of inventory flow throughout the supply change
  • Strong problem solving and reasoning skills to effectively deal with problems varying in complexity
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to meet deadlines while delivering high quality work and/or  services
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Effective time management skills
 
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Knowledge and skills acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 5 years previous Production Planning/Supply Chain work experience
  • APICS certification strongly preferred
