Job Purpose:
This Group Leader position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong computer and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will also have a strong mathematical aptitude, analytical and troubleshooting abilities, job proven supervisory and scheduling experience. This position also requires an active role in Plant Health & Safety, QS 9000/ISO 14001 policy and procedures, and Quality Control.

Duties:
  • Listen to employee problems and concerns when they arise and seek a prompt mutually acceptable resolution.
  • When a probationary employee does not meet the job standard, discuss with Human Resources and Production management the necessary steps for termination or discipline of the employee.
  • Participate with employee and Team Leader in ongoing performance reviews and standards as well as maintaining necessary records, providing the same to the Human Resources Department.
  • Ensure all molded and finished production meets established quality control specifications by:
    1. Ensuring all employees has sufficient job training and information to efficiently perform their tasks in terms of quality, quantity, and scrap with frequent follow-ups after initiation.
    2. Participate in the team effort of the quality control inspector and supervisor to maintain a smooth flow of production parts of the highest quality.
    3. To report any equipment malfunction immediately.
    4. Rectifying quality or production problems by maintaining problem solving communication with Quality/Production Manager.
    5. Actively participate in production meetings to determine production requirements.
    6. Delegate work assignments to the Team Leaders ensuring complete understanding so that quality standards and customer delivery dates are met.
    7. Make recommendations on required changes to existing and new tooling and prototypes, ensuring better quality parts and less rejects.
    8. Monitor department and take whatever corrective action is necessary to ensure employees perform efficiently and effectively so that production and quality standards are maintained.
  • Oversee Material Handlers./Maintain Log Books/Maintain the daily shift production report
  • Discuss and advise with Team Leaders on the daily production requirements and relay any special instructions.
  • Contribute to a work environment where fairness, equality and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Good command of the English language, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work safely and maintain a clean work area.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, as part of a team.
Hold a valid forklift license (training can be provided).
