Nesco Resource is seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance Technician for our client's busy and growing manufacturing operations. This is a 1st shift vacancy starting out on a temporary basis with the potential for permanent hire.

The Sr. Quality Assurance Technician will inspect parts, sub-assemblies, and systems from various points of the value stream. This includes drawing analysis, dimensional/electrical measurements and reports written about the inspection results. This position requires the ability to work in a strong team environment for exchange of information, problem solving for root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of department processes. Success will be measured by throughput of material from Receipt Inspection as well as year after year reduction in the total cost of discrepant material within the Material Review Board (MRB). This position will work closely with Supplier Quality Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering to drive root cause identification and effective corrective actions.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming materials to dimensioned drawings, visual attributes, and/or performance standards use inspection tools and gages such as calipers, micrometers, leak testing equipment, microscopes, CMM
  • Coordinate regular MRB meetings and update metric reports on reoccurring basis
  • Interact with the Manufacturing Engineering Group to solve quality issues
  • Track effectiveness of corrective actions and report these findings to SQE/ME department
  • Takes ownership of special manufacturing or quality related projects, provides status updates, and regular feedback to the team
  • Train personnel on proper use of metrology devices
  • Responsible for maintaining calibration records for equipment & tools
  • Setup and perform end of line product quality reviews
Education and Experience
  • Two-year technical degree desired
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a quality related role
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing required
  • Excellent working experience with Metrology devices including CMM
  • Basic understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Good organizational, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Requires math proficiency along with basic computer knowledge
  • Must have general manufacturing process experience
  • 5S experience and training is highly preferred
