 We are looking for a Custom Upholsterer for a local company. 
Please see the following for the Essential Functions:

·         Utilizes patterns to perform operations or improvises when no pattern is available
·         Cuts foam to appropriate size and glues foam to upholstery or wood
·         Operates clicker press, heat sealer, hot knife, slitter, band saw, grommet, and sewing machine
·         Effectively uses computerized Information Center to retrieve product/process information
·         Logs completed orders, holds, and nonconformances in order management system
·         Produces a mixture of high volume standardized products and custom solutions for customers
·         Ensures orders are completed in a timely fashion
·         Assists Customer service in determining correct product for service part orders
·         Visually inspects material during the process to prevent defects and scrap
·         Effectively uses basic measuring equipment
·         Responsible for quality of product prior to and including their workstation
·         Provides written suggestions for continuous improvement
·         Assists with training of others
·         Strict compliance to FDA and ISO control standards and recordkeeping
·         Adheres to all safety policies
·         Performs predictive/preventative maintenance as necessary
·         Maintain safety and housekeeping standards in accordance with 5 S principles
·         Complete all required training applicable to assigned position
·         Assist engineering with new product designs and build samples for prints.
·         Work with engineering on process capability restraints when new products implemented
·         Troubleshoots order/documentation/equipment/process problems as needed
·        Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.

Please see the folowing Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to effectively read blueprints for cutting and sewing instructions
  • Ability to interpret orders sent by Customer Service
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Product and part knowledge helpful
  • Must know special options available for each chair manufactured
  • Sewing experience helpful
  • Must have thorough understanding of quality systems and their relationship to job performance including ISO Overview, corrective/preventative actions and work instructions
  • Must have physical ability and manual dexterity necessary to perform the duties pertaining to job
