Duties/Responsibilities
  • Receives, comprehends, verifies piece counts and performs expertly all order requirements and processing instructions to fixture all scheduled batches of tools and the production line-up through the PVD system, in priority sequence, to optimize quality, productivity, and service to customers.
  • Ultimately learn the many different types of tools and means of fixturing them properly for a uniform coating process to include cleaning, blasting, coating and pre and post packaging processes.
  • Examines all tools for damage, defects, and proper piece count, records all exceptions.  Places them expertly, safely and efficiently in holding fixtures for precoat and final packaging of coated tools.
  • Communicates with other operating personnel involved in receiving, inspection, metal finishing, batching, fixturing, loading and coating activities to meet or exceed quality and productivity requirements of customers and IonBond Inc.  Personally checks and monitors own work output, in terms of quality and productivity; records any unacceptable work; undergoes specific training and instruction to achieve acceptable levels of skills, quality and productivity.  Inspects and checks condition of materials, cleaning fluids, fixtures and measuring equipment to ensure correct quality.
  • Assists the supervisor in scheduling and movement of work throughout the location and responds flexibly and promptly to meet changing requirements, perform prioritized tasks and optimize productivity and service levels to customers.
  • Performs routine fixture cleaning, maintenance programs and implements such cleaning and maintenance work to ensure that high quality is consistently achieved, the work area is kept in an orderly and safe condition and equipment downtime is minimized.  Assists metal finisher and coating operator as instructed by the supervisor to optimize flow of work, to minimize costs and to improve customer service.
  • Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing, to the supervisor and other operating personnel to achieve optimum continuity of workflow and quality.  Reports promptly and accurately in the shift log and other reports to inform the supervisor, operations manager, process engineer and other personnel of key events, order status and operating conditions.
  • Keeps track of operating supply levels and ensures that potential shortages of essential supplies are reported for re-order.  Reports exceptional usage rates for investigation.
  • Performs re-work as required and assists in resolving quality problems and in minimizing defective work.  Assists in the instruction and training of new and existing operating personnel.
  • Complies with company policies, regulations and safety rules and environmental protection requirements.
  • Achieve goals and objectives established with the supervisor and operations manager and performs related work as apparent or assigned.
  • Utilizes MAJIC 2000 proficiently as related to the assigned job tasks
Qualifications:
  • Should be able to read and write.
  • At least 1 year of industrial work experience, most of which must be related to at least one of the accountabilities contained in this job description.
  • Knowledge of shop math.
  • Displays a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow.
