ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
  1. Responsible for the manufacturing of AC/DC motor coils to produce quality work to customers written specification.
  2. Set-up and check coil to specifications sheets.  Set up wire cutter, bender, winder, press, spreader, and forms to prepare for production.  Coil will be brazed by resistance copper to copper, must be qualified by company standards. 
  3. Set-up lap winder to print and/or sample, get wire and check to verify size and type to order, cut and charge required materials for winding loops, wind and check coil, notify work leader or supervisor to inspect coil to specifications.  Wind required amount of laps and move them to the next operation.  (Multi-turn coils)
  4. Set-up bender to print using proper pins and dyes for wire, packages to be bent, bend coil and submit to work leader or supervisor for approval.  (Single turn coils)
  5. Coil forming-selecting forms, shaping spread loop on lead form
  6. Must become familiar with coil packaging practices.
  7. Other duties as required.
 
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
 
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
 
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
 
  1. Must be a hands-on person capable of working in a fast paced environment.
  2. Must be willing to work additional hours when required.
  3. Must have knowledge of shop math including the ability to use standard and metric systems.  Must also be able to use calipers, micrometers, read scales, and weights.
  4. Must be able to read blue prints and follow customer specifications.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
 
  1. Position may require lifting of up to 50lbs.
  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and walk.
  3. Must be able to read in English.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
 
  1. The noise level in the work area is normal for a factory environment.
  2. The employee is working in a well lit environment.
