Seeking an enthusiastic and driven IT professional to join the Information Management (IM) team in the role of Project Manager.  As part of the IM group, the Information Management Director will provide our Client with leadership in establishing, managing, and operating a newly formed data-centric development team.  The individual in this role will interact as required with the various IM discipline leadership including Business Intelligence, Data Integration, and Data Architecture leads as well as those in other IT functions such as Infrastructure, Security, and Operations.
  • Manage and coordinate the efforts of a development team in support of a designated development portfolio of projects/efforts.
  • Translate business requirements into an effective development planning and execution process
  • Focal point for understanding business and technical requirements
  • Understand fundamental design constraints for RDBMS-based Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions and related data repository types
  • Experience understanding and managing metadata
  • Establish continuous improvement of the processing of data, data integration and data management solutions
  • Regular interaction with key business users to identify/update data strategies
  • Support multiple projects by creating new programs and processes as required
  • Resolve conflicts in policy and process with respect to development efforts
  • Develop a formal release cycle and promotion strategy for new processes
  • Collaborate with BI, ETL, DBA, other development and business analyst resources
  • Manage a team, both formally and ad-hoc, of analysts and development
Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Technical Degree preferred; science, engineering, information systems or a similar technical discipline
  • 10+ years of business experience, preferably with a technical background in IT project management and/or data management
  • Prior experience in Enterprise Program and Project Management
  • 4+ years Financial Services IT experience (preferred)
  • Data or Enterprise Architecture understanding/experience
  • Proficiency with SQL and related-RDBMS query tools
  • Sound understanding of Data Management best practices/methodologies
  • Can clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools
  • Experience gathering, processing, and translating end-user requirements into implementable plans within realistic, segmented timeframes
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects at different stages of completion
  • Have a true eye and understanding for communicating information
  • Perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and deal with changing priorities and timelines/due dates
