SKILLED LABORER

Position Summary:

The Skilled Laborer will support U.S. Navy operations in Pearl Harbor, HI.  This position will carry out clear-cut recurring work assignments independently while strictly adhering to standard procedures.  Some judgment is required for selection or adapting to specific requirements.  The Laborer will leverage their mechanical / electrical know how to effectively troubleshoot, inspect and maintain submarine equipment under guidance and supervision. 

Contract Requirements:
  • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Perform manual labor tasking such as sanding, grinding, painting and other duties required to complete the work
  • Will leverage their mechanical / electrical know how to effectively troubleshoot, inspect and maintain submarine equipment under guidance and supervision
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Requires basic mechanical / electrical skills
  • Past Navy experience strongly preferred
  • Previous training in the technical field such as electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, or hydraulics that is typically acquired through completion in a 2 year trade school or community college strongly preferred
Physical Demands and Expectations: 
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, climbing, stooping, bending, and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks
