Currently, LCE is seeking Submarine Towed Array Systems Technicians to join our teams in Norfolk, VA and Groton, CT.  Please find the position details below and additional details about our company, culture and benefits at the bottom of this post.

Submarine Towed Array Systems Technician
The selected candidates will:
  • Provide onboard technical assistance on SSN 688/774 Class Submarine Towed Array and Towed Array Handling (TA/TAHS) Systems.  Evaluate, troubleshoot, test, and provide corrective actions, and/or technical oversight and guidance to correct equipment deficiencies of the TA/TAHS equipment in operational submarines.
  • Provide technical support (approximately fifteen per month) during Towed Array on-load/off-load evolutions in support of NAVSEA On-site Rep requirements.
  • Provide technical support (approximately two per month) in performing TB-16 stowage tube and/or OA-9070 guide tube inspections.
  • Provide technical and logistic support in response to telephone and message technical assists requests in support of local submarines matters associated with TA/TAHS equipment.
  • Provide onboard operational/maintenance training to ship's force personnel during technical assistance visits to improve ship's force proficiency in the operation and maintenance of TA/TAHS equipment towed systems.
  • Provide daily status of maintenance actions to support daily planning/upkeep meetings.
  • Provide for OEM support when required
  • Review daily message traffic, CASREPS/CASUPS/CASCORS and support / prepare Tech Assist Visit Reports (TAVR's), messages and debriefs/field reports.
  • Review System problems and update status-tracking information with appropriate status of problem/findings/actions taken in government databases (STARRS, WISP).
  • Regularly participate in required training related to NAVOSH/JFFM training requirements that directly impact employee work.
Required Experience:
  • Three (3) years' full-time engineering experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, test and/or repair of submarine combat systems systems/equipment. Experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective action.
  • Five (5) years' full-time technical experience in the design, installation, test, and/or repair of mechanical/electrical/electronic or mechanical systems/equipment.
Contract Requirements:
  • Must be a U. S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
