5”/54 Mk 45 Gun Mount Technicians
(Gunner’s Mates) experienced with the 5”/54 Mk 45 Gun Mount for training and developing into Subject Matter Experts in support of Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Code 294 in Norfolk, VA.  Please find the position details below and additional details about our company, culture and benefits at the bottom of this post.

5”/54 MK 45 Gun Mount Technicians

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conduct specified engineering/technical evaluations, perform equipment functional checks, perform troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair to correct MK 45 5-Inch Gun System, operation, maintenance, and connectivity faults.
  • Assist Ship's Force technicians and government personnel at assigned locations to analyze and resolve malfunctions detected during equipment operation and test.
  • Analyze equipment review and inspection data to determine source of fault, and recommend repair, replacement or other corrective actions.
  • Suggest equipment engineering changes toward improving quality and reliability and to facilitate installation, maintenance and repair.
  • All other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Position requires the ability work onboard US Navy ships, work in industrial repair facilities, and work in confined spaces.
  • Three years’ experience operating, performing corrective and preventive maintenance on the 5”/54 Mk 45 Gun Mount.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge or successful completion of Class “C” school training on the 5”/54 Mk 45 Gun Mount.
  • 5”/54 Mk 45 Gun Mount experience must be within the last 10 years with total of 6 years’ experience in the Gunner’s Mate rate.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to pass/maintain a Secret Security Clearance and possess a Common Access Card.
  • Resume should clearly state number of years’ experience and ship classes where experience was gained.
