FDRMC Quality Assurance Specialist
Position Summary:
Life Cycle Engineering is looking for qualified FDRMC Quality Assurance Specialists to join our team. This is a future overseas employment opportunity in Rota, Spain to assist FDRMC in monitoring and evaluating the performance of government contractors in accordance with JFMM, CNRMC, and FDRMC requirements using Contract Administration Quality Assurance Program (CAQAP) elements.  Dependent on location, you may be providing non-destructive testing (NDT-qualified) inspections, or gas-free engineering (GFE).

Contract Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Passport.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Review ship specification documents for quality assurance, welding, and NDT requirements to be applied to contract.
  • Develop and oversee Quality Management Plans for each contract based on Quality Data Evaluations of previous contractor performance.
  • Generate corrective action requests (CARs) for non-conformance/non-compliance to contract and NAVSEA requirements.
  • Develop test and inspection plans to ensure government contractors are performing required work based on risk, criticality of work, and past contractor performance.
  • (NDT positions) conduct non-nuclear NDT inspections in accordance with NAVSEA requirements.
  • (GFE positions) conduct gas-free engineering in accordance with NAVSEA requirements. 
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • High school diploma
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills and possess the ability to learn.
  • Must have the ability to perform quality audits of internal processes and contractor processes in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Must be certified to perform preservation coatings inspections (NACE or NBPI), or the ability to be certified to perform these inspections.
  • (NDT positions) Qualified and/or certified to conduct non-nuclear NDT inspections in accordance with NAVSEA requirements. Level II or greater NDT inspector certification.
  • Must have recent and current experience within two (2) years related to the functions and responsibilities listed above.

  • A team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism in all situations.
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and standing.
  • Work safely, following government policies, procedures and work practices in a positive, cooperative, and productive manner.
