FDRMC Project Support Engineer (PSE)
Position Summary:
Life Cycle Engineering is looking for qualified Project Support Engineers to join our team.
This is a future overseas employment opportunity with project support engineer positions in Rota, Spain to assist FDRMC in providing the maintenance teams with onsite technical expertise and as a direct liaison with the FDRMC Engineering Department during planning, fleet technical assistance, engineering, repair, assessment, and modernization work accomplished on assigned ships.

Contract Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Passport.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct structural inspections in accordance with applicable NAVSEA instructions and technical documents.
  • Document discrepancies and enter discrepancies in NAVSEA's various programs of record.
  • Conduct production quality control as required by work items and NAVSEA instructions and technical documents.
  • Provide technical guidance, analysis, and documentation for ship drydocking to include, but not limited to, block loading calculations, stability calculations, analysis of blocking plans, analysis of block moves, etc.
  • Review, research, and answer Engineering Service Requests (ESRs) for questions related to U.S. Navy vessel structure, repair, stability, and dockings.
  • Research, provide inputs and write Departures from Specification (Client) for items related to ship structure, ship repair, docking, and stability.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in the adjudication of Client, engineering analysis, root cause investigations of failures, interface and interact with Maintenance Teams (MTs), Project Managers (PM), Ship Building Specialists (SBS), private sector repair yards POCs, and other Navy activities as necessary.  
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • High school diploma
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills and possess the ability to learn.
  • Able to follow procedures and execute sequenced work instructions from either written and or verbal communications.
  • Must have recent and current experience within two (2) years related to the functions and responsibilities listed above.
Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • A team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism in all situations
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and standing.
  • Work safely, following government policies, procedures and work practices in a positive, cooperative, and productive manner.
  • Full physical mobility to be able to crawl into tanks, bilges, voids and other tight areas on the ship to perform inspections and assessments.
