Command Information Technology Specialist
Position Summary:
Life Cycle Engineering is looking fora qualified Information Technology Specialist to join our team. This is a future overseas employment opportunity to provide customer and technology support to FDRMC Rota, Spain personnel to perform a wide array of IT customer support functions. This will include analyzing digital evidence and investigating computer security incidents to derive useful information in support of application/system/network vulnerability mitigation. This includes actions to prioritize portfolio investments, architect and engineer, acquire, implement, evaluate, and dispose of IT and services; as well as information resources management, and storage, transmission, and display of data and information.

Contract Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Passport.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • IT customer support functions include providing IA/IT services on software and hardware managed by the command.
  • Identify end-user requirements for software and hardware solutions.
  • Install and configure hardware, software, and peripheral equipment for system users. Proactively interact with users to ensure proper operation of computer systems, hardware and software. Demonstrate processes and provide orientation for new users.
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
  • Manage inventory of IT resources, including all hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Troubleshoot system/application hardware and software. Scan and implement patch management.
  • Track, analyze, and project Program Budget Information System (PBIS)-IT budget, submit appropriate documentation for IT purchases (including Unfunded Requirement, Information Technology Procurement Request, and Purchase Request documentation, as needed).
  • Act as IT project manager and IT subject matter expert for command-wide projects.
  • Fulfill Telecommunications Officer responsibilities for FDRMC. This includes managing inventory of and distributing mobile phones and SIM cards, ensuring the command is meeting policies and requirements outlined by ONE-Net and the BCO, and responding to any user-reported mobile phone issues.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • High school diploma
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills and possess the ability to learn.
  • Able to follow procedures and execute sequenced work instructions from either written and or verbal communications.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Information Technology Specialist.
Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • A team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism in all situations.
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and standing.
  • Maneuvering around tight spaces in a shipboard environment.
  • Work safely, following government policies, procedures and work practices in a positive, cooperative, and productive manner.
