Cybersecurity Specialist

Position Summary: 
 
As Cybersecurity Specialist, you will provide broad support across a number of mission areas with a focus on the overall Cybersecurity posture of systems within the customer organization.  You will support the analysis of mission and security requirements, secure architecture design, assessments of both the organization and system vulnerabilities, and provide intelligence, threat, and risk assessment and analysis services to the supported organization(s).  This will all be done in concert with the established Risk Management Framework reference model.  This position will be based in Charleston, SC.
 
Contract Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must be IAT Level II compliant (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Support analysis of mission and security requirements for supported systems
  • Support analysis of secure design architectures for all new system or system components
  • Assist in organizational and system vulnerability assessments
  • Provides support in the analysis of:
    • intelligence
    • threats
    • identified risks
    • system/network security
    • firewall implementation and configuration
    • facility physical security
    • emergency preparedness
    • security design of local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN)
    • network operating systems and applications
    • continuity of operations (COOP)
      • planning
      • disaster recovery
      • incident response
    • identity, credential, and access management (ICAM)
  • Develop and implement computer security policy
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Information Science, or Computer Engineering is required
  • Certification in CompTIA Security+ or equivalent to ISO 17024 and approved by DODD 8570.01-M for CE designation
  • At least five (5) years of experience providing independent assessment overview of the policy and procedures associated with:
    • Enterprise system software
    • Security on operating systems and network devices
    • Analysis of security vulnerabilities
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Certification in CompTIA CSA+ or equivalent
  • Experience as a technical leader for projects with complex technical designs and system configurations
  • Experience working in the Risk Management Framework model as an Assessor or Validator
Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
