Job Description

While optimizing solutions for the enterprise across all business functions, the successful candidate will report into a Customer Data & Analytics organization. Job functions for the near future include working on data integration and data analytics solutions for the existing Commercial Data Warehouse (CDW) and subsequently working on a large scale migration from the on-premise platform to a new cloud infrastructure.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions in an agile environment working closely with Solution Architects, Business/Data Analysts, and Governance team members
  • Support enhancements to an existing data warehouse to enable search capability technologies
  • Participate in the migration of on-premise Data Marts in Oracle to a new AWS infrastructure leveraging Redshift
  • Partner with our Business Users to ensure data integrations are solving key gaps and adding functionality
  • Develop and enhance ETL processes using a variety of tools (Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica Cloud, SnapLogic, PL-SQL)
  • Own end to end data solutions involving storage, transformations, and data warehousing components ensuring smooth handoffs to end users
  • Design ingestion processes that provide users understandability and easy access for consumption in ad-hoc fashions leveraging diverse toolsets (Alteryx, SQL, Search)

  • While keeping business objectives in sight, the Customer Data & Analytics Sr. Data Engineer needs strong technical skills. Key skills include:
  • 6+ years of progressively complex related experience in data engineering, data warehousing, ETL/ELT
  • 3 to 4 year of working experience in data integrations involving Oracle, Redshift
  • Has strong knowledge of large scale data applications and building high volume data
integrations (preferably in a pharma/biotech)
  • Experience working in AWS, Azure, or similar cloud solution as well as on-prem RDBMS / ETL architectures
  • Integration experience with salesforce / Veeva CRM
  • Strong Knowledge in traditional and cloud ETL tools (PowerCenter, Informatica Cloud, SSIS, Data Factory)
  • Experience building data transformation and processing solutions.
  • Knowledge around data vault and kimball methodologies
  • Experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and solve challenging analytical problems.
  • Ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources
  • Proven influence/negotiation skills
