Overview: In the Industrial Measurements business unit our global team develops measurement instruments and sells to thousands of Client's customers in life science, power transmission and many other industrial application markets ranging from automotive to the food industries. We are looking for: We are searching for an experienced and motivated Field Service Engineer to deliver onsite services in the Western U.S. and Canada, with a heavy focus on customers in California. The field service position opening is in growing Industrial Measurements division based in Boston, Massachusetts. The specific service work will be to provide onsite installation and support for our validated continuous monitoring system product line. We are looking for a candidate with solid instrumentation background. Skills should include Metrology, Computers, Networks and Electronics. Preference for candidates with work experience related to electronic records in the pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing industries (FDA 21 CFR Part 11). This is a field service position that requires 80% travel. A qualified candidate will live within the assigned geographical territory within proximity of a major international airport.
Your Key Responsibilities Include: • Perform site surveys, factory acceptance tests, onsite installation and commissioning of continuous monitoring systems at customer facilities. • Perform software installation, configuration and system upgrades at customer facilities. • Perform annual service and recalibration of products at customer facilities. • Provide on-site technical support and training services for products. • Provide technical advice and assistance to sales managers and project managers.
Qualifications: • 2+ years of experience in a technical professional field service role. • Independent and self-motivated • Strong communication skills with technical competence • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Strong computer skills • Familiarity with both wired and wireless TCP/IP networks. • Current U.S. Passport and ability to travel internationally • Requires the ability to work at elevation, enclosed spaces and in cold environments. • Certified training in metrology or electronics required, bachelor's degree preferred • Knowledge of low voltage analog signal wiring and basic circuit diagnostics • Requires up to 80% travel Following qualifications are not required, but strongly preferred: • Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2 operating systems • Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR part 11 electronic records. • Familiarity with GAMP and experience with software IQ and OQ protocols • Familiarity with GLP and work experience in an accredited laboratory • Experience with automation, process control or data acquisition systems • Experience working in FDA regulated environments, cleanrooms and controlled environments.
