Job Description: Business Systems Analyst (Financial Services)
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Locals preferred)
Position Type: Contract
Must have financial industry experience.
It is extremely important that the candidate is a strong driver who is self-motivated and can help drive strategic thinking. Candidate must have proven excellent project business systems analyst skills; particularly around project methodology and system impacts. The analyst that is selected would be responsible for performing the analysis to determine changes needed and internal processes and systems as well as vendor impacts. This work will be focused on implementing new product offerings, considering all impacts including regulatory, product and process changes. Candidate must be highly organized. They must be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) and have experience creating detailed documentation. It will be required to both lead meetings and act as a scribe in some project meetings. BA will support a project in our Managed Account business area. The project will be launching a series of new product offerings. • Adhere to prescribed project methodology to ensure compliance with process. • Collaborate and negotiate to define project scope boundaries. • Contribute to project plan, detailing analysis tasks in the plan and providing estimates and updates to those tasks to the project manager on a regular basis. • Lead and facilitate interviews and/or requirements sessions to define, document, and prioritize business and user requirements. • Thoughtfully lead and drive business discussions to facilitate decision making. • Actively participate in systems requirements and design walkthroughs to ensure understanding and traceability to business needs. • Develop the user acceptance test plan and test conditions. • Develop the user acceptance test cases and scripts. • Execute test plans and test cases on a scheduled and ad hoc basis. • Contribute to implementation planning and post-implementation tracking. • Provide effective communication on project status, risks, and defects with Project owners and stakeholders. This will include the ability to concisely and accurately develop sustained relationships with internal business and technology partners as well as external vendor. • Successfully manage relationships throughout the lifecycle of the project. • Identify business needs or opportunities for improvement through either broad industry knowledge, or detailed knowledge of specific products, services or processes. • Perform occasional ad hoc tasks as needed. • Self-starter and can work independently -- get work done without oversight. • Can plan and lead work efforts as needed. • Great communication skills; both written and verbal. • Experience with project methodology and project life cycles. • Understand and apply technology as it relates to the business. • Working knowledge of Visio and Quality Center. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (excel, word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Outlook. • Track record of successful completion of business analysis activities and deliverables (as is process flows, to-be process flows, business and user requirements, data dictionary, business rules, use cases)
