POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to QA or Professional Services managers and staff and assist in workflow management. May assist with QA evaluations and patient complaints depending on department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides administrative and clerical support and assists with special projects as needed.
Creates monitors and maintains records and inputs information into and maintains database.
Compiles reports and creates spreadsheets.
May process and/or screen claims, as requested and researches and provides feedback on claims issues.
May generate or create letters and monitor Callback voicemail box.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS

Internal:
o Accounting, Payroll, Human Resources, Facilities, Consultants.
External (if applicable):
o Provider office staff.

Understaffing compromises the companys commitment to world class customer service. Frequent absences disrupt business operations and create additional work for co-workers. Because this position requires specialized training, it is very difficult to find short term replacements, especially for unscheduled absences. Prompt and regular attendance, therefore, is critical to the success of the companys mission and employees must be conscientious concerning attendance to avoid disciplinary action.



WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard office environment without unpleasant or hazardous conditions. Work entails typical physical demands involved in office work.

Skills/Experience: CORE COMPETENCIES / KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Good organizational/time management and multi-tasking abilities.
Detail orientation, analytic and problem-solving skills.
Good customer service skills.
Knowledge and application of English grammar including composition, editing and proofreading skills.
Basic knowledge of claims processing, dental terminology and health care industry issues is preferred.
Knowledge of Delta Dental products, policies, claims, and eligibility guidelines is preferred.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING REQUIRED

A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but candidates with proven experience will not be excluded from consideration.
A minimum of 1 year experience in relevant field

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS; MACHINES AND/OR EQUIPMENT USED

PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Regularly required to work standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.).
Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
Close vision required for computer usage.
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to maintain consistent, regular attendance.
Ability to report to perform tasks in a physical work office environment.
