Automation Specialist
Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired, unless specifically stated:
  • Minimum 5 years technical hands-on experience with Client Orchestration (or Opsware Orchestration) tools, including Client Operations Orchestration
  • Minimum 3 years technical hands-on experience with Client Automation (or Opsware Administration) tools, including Client Network Automation
  • Experience with model-driven configuration management systems such as Chef, Puppet, CFengine.
  • Minimum 3 years administrative experience with Oracle Linux, RHEL, Windows, and Solaris systems administration.
  • Minimum 3 years administrative experience with Network tools and hardware (Cisco, F5, Juniper, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years experience with monitoring tools.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with application development or scripting with jython or python with a solid understanding of application integration
  • Strong Experience in server-side technologies, database integration, Application Platforms such as Weblogic, Messaging systems such as Oracle ODI, as well as various monitoring solutions.
  • Strong ability to document completely and accurately at all levels of solution development and implementation, following procedural steps, as directed, to assure compliance with Federal guidelines, policies, and laws, including those that drive Sarbanes Oxley and internal Oracle policies.
  • Strong understanding of Service Desk, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management and Computer Operations IT disciplines absolutely preferred.
  • Strong understanding of process development
  • Results oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action.
  • Genuine desire to provide superior customer service.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity as needs change on a regular basis.
  • High degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work on multiple, simultaneous initiatives of which he/she will apply their applicable business, technical and system functionality background.
  • B.S. in a technical field, Computer Science preferred.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Creation of automation and orchestration workflows
  • Tracking and reporting on organizational efficiencies gained through workflow execution
  • Integrating automation and orchestration platforms with major in-house systems management, ITSM, and monitoring platforms
  • Maintenance of automation and orchestration platforms
